God Is Not Pleased With Us!

In recent years, society has seen a significant increase in behaviors that are not in line with God's teachings. From the widespread acceptance of abortion and pornography to the rise of the LGBTQ+ movement and recreational drug use, it is clear that God's people have strayed far from His will. This disobedient and idolatrous behavior is not only displeasing to God, but it also has severe consequences for humanity as a whole.
One of the most prevalent sins that has become widely accepted in society is abortion. The deliberate termination of innocent life goes against the very foundation of God's commandments. Psalm 139:13 states, "For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb." This scripture clearly shows that life is a precious gift from God, and to take it away for convenience or personal gain is an abomination in His eyes.
Similarly, the LGBTQ movement has gained significant traction in recent years, with same-sex marriage now being legal in many countries. This goes against God's design for marriage as outlined in Genesis 2:24, "Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh." The acceptance and celebration of homosexual relationships not only dishonors God's plan but also undermines the importance of traditional marriage and family structures.
Along with these sinful behaviors, there has been a rise in the consumption of pornography and the use of recreational drugs. Both forms of self-gratification go against God's teachings of purity and self-control. In 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, it is written, "Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body." God expects His people to honor their bodies and abstain from activities that defile them. Moreover, the rise of adultery and random sexual hook-ups has become increasingly normalized in society. This goes against God's commandment to remain faithful in marriage and promotes a culture of selfishness and instant gratification. Matthew 5:27-28 states, "You have heard that it was said, 'You shall not commit adultery.' But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart." This scripture emphasizes the importance of guarding our hearts and minds and abstaining from sexual immorality.
In addition to these sinful behaviors, the prevalence of feel-good and prosperity preaching has led many Christians astray. The focus on material wealth and personal satisfaction goes against the true message of the gospel - to deny oneself and follow Christ wholeheartedly. In Matthew 16:24, Jesus says, "If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me." The pursuit of material wealth and personal happiness has become an idol for many, taking the place of God in their lives. Furthermore, the emergence of the Black Lives Matter movement, while created initially with good intentions, has also become a cause for division and violence. It is essential to recognize that God sees all races as equal and calls us to love one another as ourselves. Galatians 3:28 states, "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus." When we focus on race and division, we are not following God's will, which grieves His heart.
In light of these sinful behaviors and disobedience, we now face the consequences of our actions. Natural disasters, pandemics, and political strife have plagued the world. While no one could have predicted the exact circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic, it serves as a warning from God to repent and turn back from our wicked ways. Furthermore, the inauguration of Donald Trump as the 47th President in 2025 can be seen as a parallel to Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon taking the Israelites into captivity. Just as God used Nebuchadnezzar to discipline His people, He may also be using Trump to bring about consequences for our disobedience and rebellion against His teachings. God is not pleased with His people's continuous sinful, idolatrous, and disobedient behavior. This behavior goes against God's will and has grave consequences for humanity. Let us heed this warning and turn back to God, seeking forgiveness and living in obedience to His word. As written in 2 Chronicles 7:14, "If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land."
